The history of Castle Hill Inn is as varied as its terrain and stunning water views. Join Shea – life-long Rhode Islander and history snoop – on a journey to uncover the forgotten tales of the land and the Inn that is Castle Hill! Take a look back and appreciate what our magical forty acres have to offer. Meet Shea at “Downwind”, the sailboat sculpture on the lawn. Tours begin at 11:00am on Monday.
In partnership with the Norman Bird Sanctuary, join one of their naturalists for a guided walk across Castle Hill Inn’s 40 acres! During this one hour walk, you will take in the sights and natural residents of Castle Hill Inn! This is a great excuse to borrow a pair of our Swarovski Optik binoculars to enhance your adventure! See the front desk to borrow the binoculars. Meet your naturalist by the fireplace in the Agassiz Mansion at 10 am.
Cozy up on our private beach for tasty S’mores at our waterside beach fire. Beach fires are held on Wednesdays throughout the summer and begin at dusk, weather permitting.
Meet us in the Healing Garden across from our Beach Houses for a 45-60 minute meditation session including mindfulness exercises, a guided meditation, and a moment to connect with your inner self. Hosted by Jessica Withrop-Oney of Dream Navigation based out of Newport, RI. Yoga mats will be provided. Session begins at 10:00am.
Start your weekend off right. You are invited to relax and reconnect with a yoga session on our private beach. Yoga masters from local studio, Thames Street Yoga will be your guides for the hour. Meet at the beach cabana, Saturdays at 9:00am.

Come relax and unwind at Castle Hill Inn’s very own private sandy beach! Our beach attendants will be servicing our little slice of heaven from 10am-6pm daily beginning Friday, May 24th through Monday, September 2nd and Saturdays & Sundays from Saturday, September 7th through Sunday, October 6th. Our beach attendants will provide chair covers and towels as well as beach umbrellas upon request. The beach will also feature a food and drink menu that is available daily from 11:30am-6:00pm!. We hope you make your way to the beach and let us do the rest!
Travel in style aboard the Mistress, Castle Hill Inn’s very own water taxi! Since Newport’s founding in 1639, water transport has been a principal method of travel to Newport, for both business and pleasure. Hugging the eastern shoreline of Narragansett Bay and Newport Harbor, Mistress will glide by Gilded Age mansions, the New York Yacht Club, and Newport’s town skyline during the voyage.
As a guest of the Inn, now you too can travel into Newport aboard M/V Mistress, Castle Hill’s own motor launch. The vessel departs from the Castle Hill Marina and lands at the Ann Street Pier, followed by a quick stop at Perrotti Park before returning to the Castle Hill Marina.
Each ride is $15 per adult; children 12 and under ride free with an adult. A round trip on this route will take approximately 90 minutes. Please schedule below:
